On April 8th, 2025, some of our older students went on an exciting trip! They visited Datong Junior High School in Yuanlin City to learn all about different jobs people can have when they grow up.
It was like a treasure hunt for their future! The main idea was to help them see all the cool things they could be when they're older. They got to try out different activities, which helped them figure out what they really like to do and what they're good at.
By trying new things, they learned more about themselves and started dreaming about what they want to achieve. This kind of learning is super helpful because it helps them make good choices about what to study next or what kind of job they might want someday! Isn't that neat?
On April 2nd, Dajuang Elementary celebrated Children's Day with a super fun day! Besides having lots of exciting games, our school also celebrated some very special students – our "3Q Superstars"!
What does 3Q mean? It stands for three important qualities:
AQ (Adversity Quotient): This means how well you can bounce back when things are tough.
EQ (Emotional Quotient): This is about how well you understand and manage your feelings.
MQ (Moral Quotient): This is about having good manners and a kind heart.
We want to cheer on our students to grow even when things are difficult, to stay calm and happy, and to always be kind and respectful.
The students who received awards this time are amazing examples for all of us! They showed great qualities in many ways. By celebrating them, we hope to encourage everyone to be their best selves and make our school an even happier and better place to learn and play!
On February 19th, students at Dajuang Elementary had a very important lesson about staying safe. The special class taught kids how to protect themselves, both when they are using the internet and when they are out in the world.
The lesson showed that being safe online is just as important as being safe in real life. Students learned how to know what is safe and what to do if something ever feels wrong or makes them feel bad.
Teachers and helpers shared that it's super important for kids to tell a grown-up they trust right away if anything ever feels scary or unsafe. This program helps make sure every child can grow up in a place where they feel safe and happy. Remember, your safety is always very important!
Good news from Dajuang Elementary! Our amazing Eco-Drumming Band, which started way back in 2003, is making music and showing off big smiles!
What's so special about this band? They make music using everyday things that can make sounds, like metal buckets, trash cans, food waste bins, and plastic barrels! It's super creative and helps the environment too!
In recent years, our Eco-Drumming Band has been invited to play at many cool places, like for the Changhua County government, a big basketball event, the Sijhou Township Farmers' Association, and even a science company in Taoyuan!
When our students get on stage, they're not just showing off their musical talent. They're also showing their confidence, their bravery, and their big dreams! Isn't that awesome? They are truly inspiring!
Around the Winter Solstice in December, our school had a special event where students made colorful "tangyuan," which are yummy round dumplings!
This wasn't just about making tasty food! Dajuang Elementary is a special "disaster preparedness" school. That means we learn how to stay safe during emergencies. During this activity, our wonderful volunteer moms helped students make "Five Element" tangyuan using different colors:
Guava for "Metal"
Spinach for "Wood"
Black rice for "Water"
Dragon fruit for "Fire"
White rice for "Earth"
As they kneaded the dough, students learned about these "Five Elements" and how they connect to staying safe in a disaster. The round shape of the tangyuan also showed how our community comes together. It reminded everyone that when a big problem happens, we need to help each other and work together to be ready and stay safe! It was a fun way to learn important lessons!
In January, everyone had a super fun day making food in a traditional "kiln" – like an outdoor oven made of dirt!
It was a real team effort! From getting all the food ready, to building the kiln, and then lighting the fire, everyone worked together. This special activity wasn't just about yummy food, though! Students also played games with "disaster safety challenge cards." This helped them learn how to look closely at their surroundings when they're outdoors and how to be ready if a problem ever happens.
This fun day also brought our school, parents, and kids closer together. It showed how much our community can work as a team and share warm friendships. In all the laughter and delicious smells, everyone could feel the strong "power of home" and community spirit!
In November, we had a very special visitor: a famous speaker named "Dad Cai-Jie"! He came to our school to talk about "Education that Touches Lives with Lives." Lots of parents came to listen, and they were very excited!
Dad Cai-Jie told us amazing and touching stories from his own life. He spoke in a funny and warm way, sharing how he helps his own children grow just by being a good example himself. Every parent there was really moved by his words!
He said that understanding and accepting each other is the most powerful thing in families. The talk was full of warm feelings and lots of good questions and answers. Parents told us they learned so much and started thinking about their important roles at home in new ways.
This special talk didn't just help parents learn more about raising kids. It also brought our school and families closer together, making us stronger as we work to help our children grow. It truly showed what it means to "touch lives with love and help them grow with action"!
In September, our school held a heartwarming event to celebrate Teachers' Day and say a big thank you to all our wonderful teachers!
Students shared special words from their hearts, thanking teachers for being there every step of the way, guiding them patiently, and helping them learn. The whole room felt so warm and touching!
Students in each class also made special "thank you" cards with their own hands. They wrote their respect and best wishes for their teachers. Every single word showed how much they truly cared!
And that's not all! Our Parents' Association President also gave gift cards to the teachers from all the parents. This was a way to thank teachers for all their hard work and for giving so much to help students grow.
The whole event was simple, but it meant so much! It brought teachers and students, and even parents, closer together. It also helped our kids learn how to be thankful and respectful by doing something special for their teachers! What a wonderful way to celebrate!
In December, our school held a special event to help students learn about respecting and caring for our older folks. This was to support the Huashan Foundation's "Respect for Elders" message!
During this activity, students got to experience what it might be like to be older. This helped them understand why it's so important to be kind and respectful to elders. They also learned to imagine what others might feel, and to take responsibility for helping everyone in our community.
This special event helped us practice "life education," which means learning to care for all living things. It made sure that love and care flowed warmly not just inside our school, but also out into our whole community! It was a truly heartwarming experience for everyone!
